About Me and My Therapeutic Approach

Therapeutic Perspective

Finding the right fit is an essential component to therapy! My therapeutic approach is relational, collaborative and strengths based. I believe that you are the expert on your lived experiences and come into the therapeutic space with existing wisdom. Through developing trust, in our partnership we will be able to explore your relationship to yourself, others, the systems you navigate, and the larger world around us. I have extensive experience supporting folks who are navigating life transitions, Identity, gender and sexuality exploration of self/loved ones, workplace challenges, survivors of trauma, and those who want to understand how to make adaptations in their lives to support their neurodiversity.

My ideologies are grounded in:

  • social justice

  • somatics

  • black feminist theory

  • queer theory

  • ecological systems theory

  • a health at every size model

  • trauma informed practice

I am a queer, white, Jewish, 2nd generation American who lives with chronic illness. I am a parent and a partner. All of these identities inform the way I show up in therapeutic relationships. I am committed to continued growth, learning and unlearning in my examination of the identities I hold that grant me positions of power and privilege.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 14 years in the mental health field. I graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree focusing on developmental psychology, juvenile justice, and community organizing. I received a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago’s Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. My clinical focus areas were in trauma informed care, advocacy, dialectical behavioral therapy skills, culturally responsive engagement, individual and group counseling, ecological systems theory, and fostering resilience.I have worked with diverse clients in a variety of settings including schools, residential facilities, prisons, private practice, and community based organizations.

I am licensed in the State of Washington under Naomi Tajchman-Baumer as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Clinical license number LW 61490458.
